Meet baby Desdemona. This little princess came to my Orlando, FL newborn studio for her photo session when she was one week old. When she was born, she weighed 6lbs 13.5oz and made her grand entrance right on her due date. Her momma and I have known each other since our High School days, and so I was honored to photograph Desdemona for her very first photo session.
She was such a dream baby to photograph!! She slept the entire time and was oh so smiley! Seriously though, I think I got a record number of newborn baby smiles during her session!
Desdemona is such a cool name for a baby girl! Her mom said her name was inspired from the character Desdemona from William Shakespeare’s “Othello” and a character from the 90’s Gargoyles animated series.
I had so much fun during her session, as her parents requested to do a few themed photos. We did a few Harry Potter newborn photos (both for Team Gryffindor and Team Ravenclaw). The wands in these photos are special as they were chosen for her parents.
Then, we incorporated her dad’s love for Dungeons and Dragons and took a few newborn photos with his D & D books and dice.
Desdemona’s parents are also big fans of Netflix’s Stranger Things, so naturally we had to do a few Stranger Things newborn photos using some Christmas lights and the cutest little Demogorgon.
We also took some non-themed, but oh so pretty newborn photos. I just love how these headbands from some of my favorite prop vendors Polka Dot Poppy and Lemon and Pearl Designs accessorize her full head of pretty hair. The wooden bowl that she is nestled in is from Bailey’s knits. The “bump blanket” was made my yours truly.
Welcome to the world Desdemona!

When I was a little girl, I was OBSESSED with Elvis! Like, so obsessed that I would spend an entire weekend wearing out my VHS player watching “Blue Hawaii” and “Kissing Cousins” on repeat. I had all of the figurines, the Elvis doll, all sorts of Elvis memorabilia. I even used to have an Elvis cardboard cutout in my room that I may or may not have slow danced with while blaring “Love Me Tender” in my room (don’t judge).
I love playing dress up, and since my son was born with an epic head of hair, I wanted to do this photoshoot to transform my baby into Baby Elvis and Olivia as Priscilla.
I know, I’m a nerd- but aren’t they cute?!?
Long live the King!
(P.S. Olivia didn’t really wear eyeliner- it is photoshop magic)
(P.S.S. Olivia’s arm isn’t missing in the photos, she was hiding it behind her back bc of her boo-boo on her elbow)

One of my favorite parts of being a maternity and newborn photographer is meeting new parents and hearing their journey into parenthood. I met Lester and Pamela earlier this summer for Pamela’s Maternity session out at Dickson Azalea Park here in Orlando, FL. Once we met, we realized that we all went to high school together (small world, right?).Their session was so much fun and the love between these two shined bright (just like the golden hour light we had for their session). Here is my favorite photo from their dreamy maternity session.
Flash forward to a few weeks later, I was honored to photograph their sweet baby girl Nora when she was 8 days old.
During her newborn session, Pamela told me all about her struggle and journey to become pregnant. I’ve had several friends encounter similar struggles and treatments. Some of which were lucky enough to have a healthy baby, and some others are still trying to get (and stay) pregnant. Hearing Pamela’s story brought tears to my eyes.
Here is her story and I hope this serves as inspiration to all of those who may be struggling with fertility.
“In 2014 we decided we wanted to start a family. Little did we know our journey to parenthood wouldn’t be an easy one. After 3 years of trying naturally, having many tests and procedures, and experiencing multiple failed Pregnancy tests we decided it was time to see a fertility specialist (Center for Reproductive Medicine). I was diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS which made it difficult for me to get pregnant. But we didn’t give up. We fought harder to make the dream of becoming parents a reality. IVF was our saving grace. I never knew how strong I was until I started this process. It consumes you mind, body and soul. It strengthened our marriage and we grew a deeper love for one another. Lester has been my rock and stood beside me every step of the way, wiped away every tear and made me laugh at times when it was really hard to. On August 10th 2017 our sweet baby was conceived. We loved you so much already. On Oct 4th our perfect little embryo found a new home in my womb and in our hearts. On Oct 12th we finally got our first positive pregnancy test and on Oct 30th we saw your heart beating for the first time and from that moment on we knew you were ours forever. June 17th was the best day of our life when we got to meet our beautiful little baby, Nora Elise. The best things in life don’t come easy. She was truly worth the wait, every needle poke, painful test and emotional distress. We couldn’t be happier and are so blessed!”

Meet newborn baby Charlotte, 7 days new.
I was so excited to meet this sweet newborn baby girl, when she arrived to my Orlando, FL studio she was sound asleep and ready to be photographed. She had the cutest baby hair & dimples!
For her newborn session, we first started off with some beanbag blanket poses with my favorite neutral blanket and a few headbands from one of my new favorite headband vendor Elii Nik.
She was 9 lb. 15 oz. and 20 in. long at birth, and since she was a big baby- I had to get a shot of her on my baby scale. With these photos, I was excited to use my new floor mat backdrop from Intuition Backgrounds by Becky Gregory.
Lastly, we ended with a few cute Star Wars themed photos since her parents are big fans! Her parents Kelli and Mike met in college at Florida State University and are about to celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary. She is a NICU nurse at Winnie Palmer and he works in project management for Disney. Charlotte is their first baby, aside from their 2 fur babies back at home. Charlotte was such a joy, I hope you enjoy her newborn photos!

POSTED IN:Behind the Scenes
WOW! This weekend was a whirlwind! From last wednesday I’ve photographed:
1 x Newborn Session
7 x Corporate Headshots
1 x 4 Month Milestone Session
1 x Sunflower Maternity Session
1 x 1-year Birthday/Family Session
1 x Rock Springs Maternity Session
4 x Unicorn Minis!!!
And now I need to edit all these! And next weekend will be just as crazy with a Family Session, Engagement Session, and more Unicorn Minis! Sneek peeks will be up on the socials as soon as they are available.
Friday Started with Family shoot for a four-month old, and then in the afternoon I trekked west of Orlando to do my first Sunflower Field Shoot. It is a bit late in the season, but I’m definitely bookmarking this location for next Spring! Sunday morning started very early so I could get into Kelly Park here in Orlando. Kelly Park has Rock Springs, and since it’s summer there are a lot of people there. We got to the park around 8:00am to line up the cars for the park opening at 9:00am. We were let in about a half hour after that. It was a beautiful shoot, the skies were clear and the water was nice and cool. My beautiful client was up for anything and we jumped in the springs with my Go-Pro to try out some half-underwater pictures. This was definitely a challenging shoot, pausing and waiting for patrons to float bye on the springs to get a clear shot. Sunday ended with my first day of Unicorn Minis. I’d been waiting to do these and had to re-schedule them twice thanks to the rainy Orlando weather for the last two weeks. Lucky for me, I have wonderful clients who understood and were able to reschedule their fairytale Unicorn shoot. The Unicorn here is named Sugar, and she was certainly as sweet and gentle as her namesake.
