Magical Birthday Photoshoots Inspired by Wicked
When it comes to celebrating milestones, we love going all out — and Desdemona’s 7th birthday photoshoot was pure magic from start to finish. Inspired by Wicked and her favorite character, Glinda the Good, this Wicked themed photoshoot brought a little bit of Oz right into our studio here in Orlando.
We designed a custom set that channeled Glinda’s dreamy pink bedroom — complete with sparkles, soft textures, and plenty of whimsy. Desdemona had the best time twirling around in her poofy pink gowns, laughing and posing like a true “Good Witch.”
Every detail, from the wardrobe to the backdrop, was chosen to make her feel like the star of her own fairytale. It was such a fun blend of birthday joy and Broadway magic — the kind of themed birthday photoshoot that reminds us why we love what we do as photographers.
Dedemona’s session isn’t our first Wicked inspired photoshoot either! For Gavin’s cake smash session, he and his sisters dressed up as Fiyero, Glinda, and Elphaba. It was a blast capturing all three siblings together with a creative split-tone backdrop using the characters’ signature colors: green and pink.
For Aimee’s third birthday, she and her two sisters also got glammed up in their best Wicked attire, using some of the same custom designed backdrops and sets for a fun, whimsical take on Oz that fit each sister’s personality perfectly.
With Wicked: For Good releasing in theaters this week, we couldn’t think of a better time to share these portrait sessions. Seeing all these kiddos step into Glinda and Elphaba’s world reminded us why stories like Wicked resonate so deeply — they’re about friendship and the courage to be unapologetically yourself.
