What to Expect: Our Photography Process from Booking to Final Image Delivery | Kossina Creative Photography
Every portrait session at our Orlando photo studio is designed to feel seamless, guided, and deeply personal from the moment you inquire to the day your artwork arrives in your hands. Whether you are booking maternity, newborn, family, cake smash, or milestone portraits in Orlando or anywhere in Central Florida, the experience is intentionally structured so you feel supported at every step.
This is what the full process looks like, from first conversation to finished photos.
1. Consultation & Booking Your Session
Your experience begins with a consultation, or Welcome Call, where we take time to understand your vision and the kind of portraits you want to create together.
To reserve your session, we collect a session fee, which includes a 30-minute call to plan your session, the photoshoot itself, a fully guided experience with expert posing, and a Zoom call to select your favorite photos. The session fee also includes professional hair and makeup for one person, unless you wish to waive that service. From there, you can also choose to pre-purchase a collection of photos.
We’ll also select a session date and location at the time of booking. Depending on your session type, this may take place in our Orlando studio or at a carefully chosen outdoor location that fits your vision and style.
The booking process is designed to feel simple, clear, and supportive, so everything is in place before we move into the creative design phase.
2. Design Call or Dress Fitting Appointment
After booking, we will schedule a design call with you, usually one to two weeks prior to your photo session. This appointment takes place over Zoom, but we do offer the opportunity to schedule an in-person dress fitting at our studio. A dress fitting is especially helpful for maternity clients, so they have the chance to try everything on and pick out their favorite gowns before their session.
Whether virtually or at an in-person fitting, we plan the visual direction of your session. We will map out the exact setups, outfits, and styling that will best bring your vision to life.
This step removes the stress of “what to wear” or “what to bring” and replaces it with clarity, confidence, and excitement for your upcoming session.
3. Your Portrait Session Day Experience
When your photo session day arrives, everything has already been carefully prepared so you can simply show up and enjoy the experience.
Studio sessions are calm, guided, and fully directed. Every detail, from posing and lighting to expression and composition, is expertly led so you never feel unsure of what to do. We also provide light refreshments including water and simple snacks to keep you comfortable, however you’re always welcome to bring your own beverages or snacks if you prefer. We aim to make the experience feel relaxed and cared for, especially for maternity and newborn sessions.
Outdoor sessions throughout Central Florida and the Orlando area are also just as guided, with the biggest difference being that we will usually meet at the photo location. If there are any dresses from our client closet that you’re borrowing for the session or any specific props we discussed before hand, we’ll bring those to the location as well.
Most clients are surprised by how easy and enjoyable the experience feels. Instead of worrying about what to do, you’re free to focus on being present while we take care of the rest.
4. The Image Selection Appointment
About one to two weeks after your session, we’ll meet with you virtually over Zoom to select your favorite images from the photoshoot.
During this 60-minute appointment, we show you all the best photos from your session. Rather than leaving you to decide alone, we offer direction and support to make the selection process as stress-free as possible.
This is also where editing and finishing touches are discussed. We review subtle refinements such as skin retouching, faceswaps, and artistic enhancements.
Once your favorites are selected, we guide you through designing how your images will be enjoyed and preserved. Some clients prefer a fully digital collection for ease and flexibility, while many others choose to invest in printed artwork that transforms their portraits into something tangible and lasting.
For those who would like printed pieces, we assist with the whole designing process. Options include, but are not limited to, heirloom albums, professional photo prints, and custom wall art. Each piece is created with longevity in mind, crafted to feel timeless and personal, with the intention of becoming part of your home for years to come.

5. Gallery Delivery & Your Finished Artwork
The final step in your experience is the delivery of your images and any printed artwork.
Your selected images are carefully edited and delivered in a online digital gallery, making it easy to view, download, and share your portraits with family and friends. We typically deliver your digital gallery within two weeks of your image selection appointment, allowing time for thoughtful editing and final refinements.
If you’ve chosen to include printed products such as albums or wall art, those pieces will follow a slightly longer timeline. Each design is first carefully prepared for your review and approval, ensuring every detail feels just right before going to print. Once approved, production typically takes between 3–5 weeks, depending on the specific product.
